Steel Formwork

Steel Formwork
Product Introduction:
Steel Formwork is composed of aluminum alloy frames and wood plywood, and is matched with various conventional formwork accessories and aluminum frame connectors to complete concrete pouring projects for structures such as walls, columns or floor slabs. The durability of aluminum frame materials, when combined with different qualities of wood plywood (such as birch plywood, poplar plywood, eucalyptus plywood or mixed wood plywood, etc.), can meet the concrete pouring requirements of various building structures.

Introduction

Q700 steel formwork is made from high-strength alloy steel for casting walls, columns, slabs, beams, and other structural concrete. The Q700 designation tells you the steel grade – minimum yield and tensile strength of 700 MPa.

The panels are 1.5mm thick, formed by stamping and laser welding. They come with a zinc-aluminum-magnesium (Zn-Al-Mg) coating that stops rust. Panel depth is 65mm. The modular design lets you set up different shapes without much fuss.

This system sits between traditional steel and aluminium. It performs like aluminium but costs about a third as much, and it is light enough that you do not need a crane for most handling. With 300+ reuses, the numbers work out well for repetitive floor construction.

Advantages

Weight

Panels weigh 19.6 to 24.7kg per square metre, depending on the configuration. Single panels run from 10kg up to 58kg. Most are manageable by two workers – no crane needed for routine handling.

Cost

Material cost is roughly one-third of aluminium. With 300-plus reuses, the cost per pour is lower than timber and aluminium over the project life. The Zn-Al-Mg coating outlasts conventional galvanised steel by two to three times.

Corrosion resistance

The Zn-Al-Mg coating, about 80μm thick, stands up to moisture, rain, and concrete slurry. It works in coastal areas, humid conditions, and outdoor storage – places where ordinary steel would rust quickly.

Reuse cycles

You get 300-plus uses with normal site care. Some operations report up to 1,000 cycles. Spread the cost over that many pours and it becomes hard to beat.

Concrete finish

The 1.5mm steel face gives you smooth, clean concrete. Often good enough to leave bare – no plastering needed.

01

Turnaround

Columns and shear walls come off the form in 24 hours. Slabs take 36 hours. Floor cycles run 4 to 5 days – comparable to aluminium.

02

Compatibility

Works with Ring Lock, Crab (500X), Kwikstage, and independent prop systems. Also connects with aluminium formwork panels.

03

Shipping

Flat-pack design cuts shipping volume by up to 60% compared to traditional steel formwork. That saves real money on international freight.

04

Recyclability

Steel is 100% recyclable when you are done with it.

Applied Range

Q700 steel formwork covers most concrete work:

·High-rise residential and commercial towers

·Standard floor and repetitive slab work

·Super high-rise – works with Ring Lock, Crab, and Kwikstage shoring

·Industrial plants and factories

·Bridges and tunnels – coating handles wet and outdoor conditions

·Public infrastructure – airports, stations, hospitals, stadiums

·Basements and non-standard floors – including pipe galleries

·Complex shapes – round, curved, and irregular forms

Good for jobs where aluminium is too expensive but you still want light handling and quality concrete finish.
